Thanks to everybody who helped or visited the Hugh Farren exhibition. it was a terrific event and proved very popular. A lot of work was sold and the family have passed on their gratitude for our support. As well as inviting members to the launch party, the family kindly donated biscuits, tea and coffee to the cupboard.
Members are reminded that proposals for personal exhibitions can be discussed with the committee.
Details of the Greenock Art Club Awards 2020 are now online. See menu for prizes and info!
Thanks so much to Gavin Weir for his inspiring demonstration. Gavin’s work shows his careful attention to detail and his love of quiet city streets at times when most of us are in our beds. Gavin showed us how much effort goes into producing one of his artworks. We got tips about measuring up, under-painting and softening edges with a fan brush. Looking at Gavin’s drawings and sketchbooks, as well, was a real treat!
