Fancy improving your drawing skills? Interested in drawing from life? Why not come along to our life drawing classes in the Stables Studio, Broomberry Drive? Classes run fortnightly and start on Thursday 24th February. Sessions are currently £5 and open to members. Any non-members are welcome to come along and ‘give it a try’ before committing to full membership.

The club is open in the evenings; numbers limited to 8…so be quick! Jim will let folk know when the club is open on the WhatsApp. The Monday/Thursday classes are running as normal for now. We hope everyone is keeping safe and well.

Evening classes are continuing, restricted to 6 persons until we hear any different. Mondays and Thursdays are postponed. A representative of our MSP, Stuart McMillan has been contacted and we will act on his advice when he gets back to us. The trustees are pleased to announce that Greenock Art Club will reopen on Monday, the 31st August, unless guidelines change in the interim. Face coverings will need to be worn and tables are spaced to allow distancing. Each person is asked to sanitise their hands on entry and clean their table after use. The lavatory should also be sprayed and cleaned after use. Please bring your own materials and take them away with you. The urn will be switched on and bringing your own mug is advised. Classes formerly on Mondays will be split between Mondays and Thursdays. Evening numbers will be limited so get there early!

Responding to the latest advice from the Scottish government, the club will have to remain closed until further notice. We assumed that the provisional opening date of the 15th of July would be upheld, but new guidance has stated that small clubs have not been included in the relaxation of the lockdown rules.

We will continue to review the situation and will let members know as soon as the club can reopen confidently.

The club has been given a lovely freshen-up, with a soft shade of grey on the walls, some new shelving and white paint on the bookcase. Thanks to Jim Owens for all his hard work. The spanking new decor will be a treat to come back to, when we finally get the go-ahead!
